Everyday Scientific Method

The scientific method is used on a daily basis all around us, we just have to pay attention to what we are doing. We all learned the scientific method in grade school; Define the problem, observe, form hypothesis, experiment, analyze data,form a conclusion, and communicate. Every morning I go through these steps when I am getting ready for school, just not as in depth. When I wake up  have the same question every morning, what am I going to wear today? This, as you can tell, is my problem(1).

I look out the window every morning to see if there is frost on my car window, observing(2). If it's summer and there is no frost on my car, but fog. My hypothesis(3) would be it's probably going to be hot today. My experiment isn't the same as the ones in biology. For my experimentation(4) I take the dogs out side in the morning, by doing this I can use my own senses to decide if it's hot or cold. I then like to turn on the news and see what their opinion of the weather is for the day, collecting and analyzing the data(5) I a presented with. Depending on the local news station and whether or not I have practice after school, I can now decide what I am going to wear for the day. My conclusion(6) on a warm morning is typically shorts and a short sleave shirt. There is not really a communication (7)of peers is this instance, my friends can see what I am going to wear, no reason to beat the dead horse.

Music=Life

    I am a member of the Huntington High School marching band. Currently I am the pit captain(section leader). The vibraphone is my main instrument, its like my baby (not in a weird way, more like a guy loves a car.) I love and take care of it like no other. No one else in the band can touch my baby. When a person joins marching band they practically sell their soul to Mrs. Ash. Being a percussionist means that you practice twice as much as the rest of the band. We practice all summer, even before school was out. Band is my life and I love it, its where I fit, and where I am accepted. During the school day I am just another quite short girl who keeps her head down and does what she is told. In band I am enthusiastic and loud. Its kind of like jackel and hide, average by day, cool by night.
